The opening of Ocean Blue Growing Green was a wonderful, relaxed afternoon with some great Jazz played by Trevor and Linus. Here are a few images of Dore's work from the exhibition. It will continue to the end of April.

Pennie's jewellery is meticulously made using materials entirely sourced by her many years of beach combing. Discover for yourself her curious and colourful jelly-fish baby bangles and sponge-cup rings. Whilst Dore has been indulging her passion for the colour green and expressing it in her latest enamel and silver pendants and rings.

Dore @ Manyung Gallery, Sorrento
Over the past year I have indulged in my passion for green. Apple green, olive green, grass green, grey green, ocean green.....enameled on silver resulting in a collection of rings, pendants and earrings. I am pleased to be showing this work @ Manyung Gallery together with the beautiful work of Jenny Riddle.

SITE/sight INSIGHT Drawing workshop with RITA LAZAUSKAS
We are thrilled to introduce our friend Rita Lazauskas to you
through her weekend drawing workshop being held at oneofftwo.
Artist/curator Rita Lazauskas has over twenty years experience working in public galleries in the development and presentation of exhibitions, public programs, workshops and guided tours.
A practicing artist since 1986, Rita works predominantly in drawing and painting. She has been a finalist in all the major drawing awards in Australia including the Dobell, Robert Jack, Dominique Segan, Hutchin, Swan Hill, Hazelhurst and Jacaranda. Awards include the 2011 Arts Wodonga Hume Award and 2004 Blackfriars Drawing Acquisitive.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Working from observation my practice includes a commitment to a daily drawing project, ongoing since 2003. When traveling the drawings record the landscape and architecture, most recently in Morocco. But more often than not, they are based on the objects on hand at home, reflecting on the complexities of life from a safe and defended position.
A bevy of old toys and junk, including iconic symbols of western culture such as the ‘Barbie’ doll, are in the jumble of debris and objects on the desktop. Viewed from above, the discarded toys, each with their own attributes and imperfections, become metaphor for the human condition. They act out scenarios - relationships are forged and narratives abound.

Please have a look at Rita's unique drawings on her website:

For those of you outside of East Gippsland, there is a range of accommodation right in Nungurner and nearby surrounds. We are happy to help with suggestions.
We are hoping to make this a great weekend, please email us for more info and/or bookings.
regards,
Dore & Marcus

Enameling Classes
Hello everyone,
with the days getting a bit colder I thought it might be a nice idea to fire up the kiln and run a weekly enameling/jewellery workshop. We'll offer two classes both on Tuesdays - one in the morning 9.30 to 12.30 and an evening class 6.00 to 9.00 and each running for 10 weeks.
Up to 5 participants in each of the classes will be shown the formative skills of enameling and gold and silversmithing with the goal of producing individually designed simple pieces of jewellery. Novices are welcome. For those participants with more experience there will be the opportunity to produce more complex work.
Please email us on mail@oneofftwo.com.au for further information.
Hope you can make it.

Fractured View @ BILK
'Fractured View' is a progression of my 'Chaos and Order' exhibition and is shown at BILK in Canberra at the moment (23rd July - 19th Aug) The set up looks great. Thanks Helen and Tanja! So different to how I would have set it up.
I was lucky enough for the NGA to buy one of my pieces, so if you can't make it to the show, the pendant will be on display from the end of August onwards.
Here are a few pics of some of the new pieces, that are shown with the work of the 'Chaos and Order' exhibition.

For Your Ears Only - Easter 2011
Dore and I were very happy to have pleasant weather and a great turn out to our exhibition of earrings at oneofftwo. It was a real pleasure to show other Artists beautiful jewellery for the first time. All were appreciated by our visitors. It was a great day made truly special with the fantastic jazz guitar played by Trevor Jones - a recent arrival to East Gippsland from Melbourne, who was accompanied on piano by our son, Linus.
